About Our Arborists
Brandon Brodie
My fascination with nature began early, and it’s something that’s stayed with me throughout my life. In high school, I developed a strong interest in biology and science, which deepened my appreciation for the natural world and laid the foundation for my future career. As a teenager, I got into landscaping, gardening, and horticulture, and it became clear pretty quickly that working outdoors was something I was truly passionate about. When I started tree work at 18, I realized I had found a career that I genuinely enjoyed. The work keeps me engaged and never gets old.
In 2007, I founded Earthworks Tree Service. I’ve always been dedicated to maintaining and preserving the health and beauty of trees, with tree removal being a last resort. Over the years, I’ve made sure to stay up-to-date with industry standards as a Certified Arborist, which has helped our team offer services like crown reduction pruning, a technique that really helps keep trees safe and healthy.
Outside of work, I’m a family man. I’m lucky to have a wonderful wife, a son, and a daughter who bring joy and balance to my life. When I’m not working, I’m often spending time with them or pursuing my hobbies. I’m passionate about jiu-jitsu, mountain biking, pickleball, and snow sports, which help me stay active and connected with the outdoors.
I’m also fortunate to work with a team of people who share my enthusiasm for what we do. Together, we strive to meet the needs of our clients while doing what’s best for the trees, aiming for a balance that benefits both.
Christopher Hunsaker
Christopher Hunsaker is an ISA Certified Arborist and the lead consulting arborist at Earthworks Tree Service, where he has worked since 2018. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Botany from Weber State University, where he focused on endangered species in the Mojave Desert. This academic foundation, combined with hands-on experience pruning and maintaining custom gardens under the guidance of Sarah Sondergaard, has equipped him with a deep understanding of plant health and ecology.
Specializing in tree risk assessment—a challenging aspect of arboriculture—Christopher enjoys building long-term relationships with clients. He takes pride in returning season after season to see how the trees are developing, often recalling their trees even if he forgets their names. This personal connection to the natural world drives his dedication to fostering healthy, thriving landscapes.
Living in Bellingham with his wife, who is also an ecologist, Christopher finds joy in sharing his passion for trees. He plans to become a board-certified Master Arborist in the next five years, further enhancing his expertise and commitment to ecological stewardship within his community.
